And they're off
Just based on the spike in calls I am going to declare yesterday as the official beginning of the election season. That said I am always trying to figure out the reasons for things and was stumped because May 1st isn't a particularly notable day on the election calendar. Then I remembered that Wednesday was the last batch of policy hearings before the first house deadline. So not all that shocking that the day after those hearings all the people who have to do both policy and politics pivoted their brains, realized mail ballots are going out in a week, and the starting gun went off.
Having solved the puzzle to my satisfaction, I returned to work.
