Are we there yet?

Sometimes I wonder why I am tired.  Then I remember that Election Day is no longer Election Day.  Thanks the first ballots start getting mailed out two months before Election Day.  And thanks to redistricting there are inevitably close elections leading to canvasses and recounts extending a month after Election Day.  And thanks to the top two primary I have to care a lot more about June and not just November.  And until term limits reform fully kicks in it means a prologue like 2013 where there literally was never a time when there wasn't a special election going on somewhere.

So as those first aforementioned ballots of 2014 are sent out to military and overseas voters beginning today, we all should take a deep breath before going once more into the breach.
