Random connections

Was speaking with someone who told me that his problem with lots of consultants is they have never done what they are talking about.  How are you a campaign strategist if you have never spent a few months shipped off someplace, staying in an apartment (if you are lucky), living and breathing a campaign?

The memory of that conversation popped in my head this AM when I went through this article on Jack in the Box's profit surging due to its expanded late night menu.  The first thing that popped in my head was, "damn where was that menu when I was out an campaign X and needed something other than cold pizza after midnight while finishing up precinct kits."
